Street photography camera bags by ONA

At times when I still owned my Canon 7D with that 50mm lens (75mm full frame equivalent) I was looking for a new bag. I did just sell most of my equipment including the typically black camera backpack and I wanted to buy something that doesn’t shout out “camera equipment”. It should also be made from leather rather than canvas or nylon. So I had a look at a lot of different brands like Oberwerth, Artisan & Artist, Crumpler, Manfrotto, ZKIN and in the end New York City based ONA bags.

I just liked the overall design of the ONA bags the most and due to the larger size of the Canon body I decided to get myself “The Berlin II” that was designed to celebrate 100 years of Leica photography. I still put my Canon in it for quite a while and it did not complain. What’s to say about that bag? Well, it’s a messenger style leather camera bag that doesn’t look like a camera bag. The interior has the signature Leica red colour, is fully customisable and big enough to also accommodate a medium-sized DSLR system including additional lenses. Additionally it also features a zipped organiser pocket, a removable top-grab handle and a back pocket.

I bought my Leica M 262 (after a long time of saving money for it…) as a first-timer set directly at the Leitz-Park in Wetzlar. This set also included the smaller messenger bag “The Bowery” by ONA bags. Most of the time the smaller bag is totally sufficient to carry all essentials for a photowalk – even including wallet and a small water bottle. “The Bowery” is made from canvas and also features the same Leica red interior that is fully customisable. This bag is also available as a leather version and in other colours.
